Having worked in the construction industry for over twenty five years as a Senior Director, Gary led the Programme Delivery and Governance functions for £9Bn London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, delivered in time on budget with quality standards exceeding all expectations. Gary managed the development and implementation of project-specific guidance, delivery methodologies, key performance indicators and assessment systems that interpreted and satisfied programme-wide overarching policy goals and planning obligations providing invaluable control mechanisms for the ODA.
As the Project Director, he provided strategic direction and leadership for the Ashford Discovery Centre and Ashford Learning Campus developments acting as sole point of interface between project ownership and project delivery, responsible for day-to-day management and delivery of the Client’s interests and project objectives including monthly project status reports, design & progress presentations to senior management and directors of client, partner and stakeholder organisations. He produced and implemented Project Execution Plans that defined project goals & objectives, procedures, budgets, quality and performance standards and timeframes for delivery. He directed, and worked successfully as part of a cross-functional, multi-agency team, building effective working relationships at all levels.
As the Associate Vice President, Gary was the founding member of the London based European regional headquarters office for an award winning US design firm, developing “Pan-European” mind-set, skills and sensitivities working with a variety of nationalities and cultures implementing creative design based solutions throughout Europe and North Africa. He provided significant leadership role during the development, sales, management and oversight of newly established business lines and service sectors during 11 year tenure in firm’s European headquarters office.
Gary’s successful career delivered some of the most known buildings and spaces around the world including major masterplanned mix use developments, major commercial, hospitality, education, healthcare, residential and retail developments, and several US Embassies at project value of US £ 50m to US £1.3Bn.
