Having qualified as an architect and a Programme & Project Management Professional in the UK, Mario specialises in leading complex projects with a diverse range of experience gained as a client, consultant and contractor over the last twenty five years. He has particular expertise in motivating  and leading  large multi-disciplinary teams, setting up exceptional control processes, place making and product development.

Mario has substantial international contacts established with private and public organisations including general governments, government agencies, funders, developers, contractors, architects, procurement and logistics partners.

He has a number of executive and non-executive roles with matured and start-up organisations including Ormeci Group of Companies, owned by his family, which is a substantial construction company established in 1973, with investments in fashion, tourism and property development.

Mario has recently been accountable for the development of Athletes Village, built for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games. The project consists of 2,818 residential units, an academy, a policlinic and public realm across 70  hectares  of masterplanned site with a construction value of £1.2Bn. Whilst delivered on time, under budget, to a level of quality surpassing all expectations, the Village has raised the industry benchmark in every aspect across Europe.

His other successfully led projects include:

  • Two 40 storey towers consisting of 409 exclusive residential apartments and a 168 room 5 star hotel in Canary Wharf, London with a value of £300m.
  • A major masterplanned development consisting of 4500 residential villas, four 5 star resort hotels, a university campus, a retirement home, a specialist healthcare, 18 and 9 hole golf courses, a polo club, a football club, a shopping centre, a community centre and a small museum in Bodrum, Turkey with a value of £2bn.
  • A 53 unit, extremely high-end residential, housing development in Esher with a value of £120m.
  • A 600 unit mix-use scheme, developed as part of major Texaco Garage development, roll out across London with an estimated value of £1Bn.
  • A 484 unit residential scheme in London with a construction value of £90m.
